Dear Members and Friends,
Now that several weeks have elapsed since the Ciudadanos Europeos Charity Walk on the 5th of April this year, we have now received most of the donations from the participants and are extremely proud to announce that up to the 5th of May of 2008 we have received a total of approximately 9.000,00 Euros. With existing funds, this now makes the grand total of 17.729,34 Euros in our Charity Walk account!
In accordance with the members of the Ciudadanos Europeos Committee, we will continue to distribute individual sums of money throughout the year to each of the various Disabled Associations for Children, and also to the Elderly in need, supporting their projects and events as required.
We have already agreed to assist a young man from the Association ISLA, who is 25 years of age and severely disabled. Due to his age he is not eligible for much government assistance. Ciudadanos Europeos will help support the cost of his Disability Centre with the monthly sum of 100,00 euros for the next year. We will also settle an outstanding invoice for the amount of 560 euros which derives from the bus company Autocares Emilio Seco for an outing arranged by the Association Amaticia. Further, we are currently in contact with some 12 disabled Associations, to establish what their pressing requirements might be.
All incoming funds, donations to the Associations, receipts etc are available at the Ciudadanos Europeos office for members of the public to inspect, should they wish to do so.
We will continue to inform the press of future incoming donations, bank balances etc. This information will shortly be published on the Ciudadanos Europeos Web Site.
